… Apple selling 3 million iPads last weekend? Amazon buying a robot maker for $775 million? Twitter buying Posterous? Facebook buying Gowalla?
Or the rumors about … the 7″ iPad? The new Kindle Fire? The Google tablet?
It seems like every day there are more and more developments in the tech/digital world. And as digital marketers, futurists and technology evangelists it’s our job to keep up with all of it. After all, you want to have a choherent answer when your boss asks you if the company should be on Pinterest, right?
But how do you do it? We’ve mentioned before that when we co-presented with Piers Fawkes of PSFK at last year’s E-Patient Connections conference only a few audience members were actually familiar with one of the top destinations for digital news on the internet. if your confining your reading to trade journals and websites, you’re only picking up a small portion of the information that’s out there. Even reading blogs like this one will only take you so far. After all, we can’t do the type of deep dive on responsive web design or the technical specifications of Facebook’s new timeline in the way that other sites can. it’s simply not a part of our remit.
But that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be accessing that knowledge or at least be aware of new developments in the technology space on a daily basis. The P & P crew have Google reader accounts set up with RSS feeds from numerous sources. And since we’re sponsored by a digital agency (Zemoga aka the mothership) we have access to in house briefings on the latest digital tools and technology as well as briefings from service providers like Adobe and Microsoft.
Tomorrow, we’ll talk about the sites that we feel are the must visit destinations for keeping up with all things digital. But today we want to hear from you.
How do you keep up with the latest trends in digital media and technology? What are your tricks for staying ahead of the curve?
