Dan Bobear-casualDAN BOBEAR (@dbobear) - is EVP/Managing Director of Client Service for Palio. Dan has more than 17 years of experience in pharmaceutical and biotech marketing. His expertise includes pharmaceutical marketing and strategy development, new product planning/commercial development, market research, business development, life-cycle planning, and product launch planning/implementation. At Palio, Dan oversees all account teams, providing strategic direction, leadership, and guidance.

Neall CurrieNEALL CURRIE is VP/Associate Creative Director at Palio. Neall has extensive experience in writing and editing. He has created award-winning concepts and copy for print, outdoor and broadcast advertising, Web sites, and collateral materials. His literary expertise has enabled him to move seamlessly between healthcare and consumer products. Prior to joining Palio, he was a senior copywriter at Winstanley Associates and a copywriter at Quinlan Advertising. As a sports producer at WISH television, he produced the evening sports segment as well as a 30-minute highlight show that consistently held the highest rating in its time slot. Currie’s award-winning work has been seen and heard in a variety of advertising and marketing venues.

Ian DeMerittIAN DeMERITT, PhD (@idemeritt) - is a Senior Medical Writer for Palio. Ian brings considerable medical and pharmaceutical communication expertise to Palio’s table. He has strong communication and writing skills with experience preparing medical and scientific publications covering multiple disease states. While he has worked in a variety of therapeutic areas, his strengths encompass the following disciplines: microbiology and immunology, virology, gene regulation, and cell and molecular biology.

Steve Dubansky-colorSTEPHEN DUBANSKY, MD (sdubansky@palio.com) - Steve Dubansky is SVP/Medical Director at Palio. Steve is an accomplished pediatrician with a focus on hematology/oncology. His work has been published in numerous medical journals and scientific publications. Steve trained at Albert Einstein, the University of Maryland, where he served as pediatric chief resident, and followed with a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Colorado Medical Center and the Denver Children’s Hospital. Prior to joining Palio, Steve was an associate professor of pediatrics at the SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York, and The Center for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders, where he was director of the Comprehensive Sickle Cell Disease Center. Steve practiced general pediatrics in New Jersey, New Hampshire, and Virginia. He served as the university judicial officer, admissions committee member, and member of the Institutional Review Board at Upstate. He is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Society for Nutrition.

DJ 150x150 Our ContributorsDJ EDGERTON (@wiltonbound) – An industry recognized pioneer with over 18 years of experience in interactive marketing. DJ is a co-founder of Zemoga with offices in NYC, CT and Bogota Colombia. A graduate of Pratt Institute, he began his career at Saatchi and Saatchi but left to create his own award-winning agency, Underline, in 1992 where he went on to win multiple Pharma Interactive awards including the Grand Global. Underline was later sold to Context Integration in 1999. In 2001, DJ teamed with former Underline creative colleague, Alejandro Gomez, to create Zemoga, which specializes in providing the healthcare industry with innovation through the strategic leveraging of technology.

Paul Harrington-colorPAUL HARRINGTON is SVP/Creative Director at Palio. Paul has been producing award-winning creative work at various agencies for more than 20 years. His client experience encompasses both consumer and healthcare accounts. Harrington came to Palio from Rockett, Burkhead & Winslow, where he served as senior vice president/managing creative director. In that position, he was responsible for day-to-day creative operations and served as lead writer on an assortment of consumer, high-tech, B2B, and healthcare accounts. As vice president/associate creative director at Hill, Holliday, Harrington was the lead writer for multiple television, print, radio, and direct mail campaigns. Other agency experience includes creative positions at Duval & Partners, DRK, and Rockett, Burkhead & Winslow.

Jon Hussey-colorJON HUSSEY (@Treebeard415) - is SVP, Director of Brand Planning for Palio. Jon’s background includes strategic and tactical brand management, including international product launches for 2 major brands. Jon has 15 years of experience working in Japan and Asia and is fluent in spoken and written Japanese. Hussey comes to Palio from Pfizer Inc, where he most recently served as a senior marketing manager for Viagra. He was the lead for their global branding initiative and served as the commercial lead for Viagra’s anticounterfeiting task force. Also at Pfizer, Hussey was the marketing manager for Cardura and was responsible for the global launch of Cardura XL. Prior to this, he was an associate in the Global Leadership Associate Program at Warner Lambert Company, where he completed rotations as both a sales representative and a district sales manager. Before coming to work in pharmaceuticals, Hussey held several positions in Japan, including manager of manufacturing services at Simmons Co., LTD., project supervisor at Nippon Magnetic Dressing Company, and assistant English teacher for the Sowa Board of Education.

Sven has held senior positions with Time Warner Publishing UK, Penguin UK & US (working with Pearson, the Economist and the Financial Times). With a long career in media, Sven has worked with a number of prominent healthcare thinkers including Dr. Andrew Weil, Steven Pinker, Simon Baron-Cohen, and Dr. Oliver Sacks.

He has held executive-level positions in some of the world’s largest consumer advertising agencies, including Bates Worldwide, Saatchi and Saatchi, and McCann Erickson.

Jim Mittler-colorJIM MITTLER, PhD (@jim_mittler) – is a Medical Director at Palio. As a member of the Medical Strategy Team, Jim brings clinical and scientific insight that fuels marketing and advertising communications for physicians and patients. He has expertise in multiple therapeutic areas, including HIV, multiple sclerosis, nephrology, oncology, and pain management. Jim came to Palio from the Ordway Researching Institute where he conducted cancer drug discovery research. He earned his doctorate in immunology and infectious diseases, and has been published extensively on T-cell biology. Jim began his professional career at Albany Medical Center as a medical technologist, and was involved in hematology/oncology, bone marrow stem cell transplantation, and medical education.

Mike Myers-CasualMIKE MYERS (@mmyerspalio) – is the President of Palio. Mike has been a leader in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry for over 2 decades. He is well versed in all areas of professional and consumer healthcare marketing and advertising — from strategic planning and market research to branding, and consumer healthcare product launches. Prior to joining Palio, Mike was a senior vice president at Lowe McAdams Healthcare in New York City where he was responsible for new business development and management within the company’s direct marketing group. Additional healthcare marketing experience includes positions at a number of companies, such as NCI Advertising, PCS Health Systems, Walsh America/Pharmaceutical Marketing Services, Inc., and Eli Lilly and Company.

Philip  has delivered brand support for a range of healthcare and consumer clients for more than 10 years. During his tenure at Palio, Philip has created corporate advertising, led product launches, and created on-site communications for sales and marketing meetings. His experience includes work with restricted-access programs and drugs with significant safety warnings.

Carl TurnerCARL TURNER, JR.(@leftyrightbrain) -  is  VP Research and Analytics Director at Palio. Carl is a market research professional specializing in research, statistical analysis, and business strategy. Prior to joining Palio, Turner was senior market research analyst for TargetRX, where he guided a team of researchers, performed complex analysis of data, and developed actionable insights for major pharmaceutical companies. As a market research analyst for Scorelogix, Turner designed consumer behavior surveys with an emphasis on validity and reliability. Prior to working in the private sector, Turner taught at the University of Delaware and held the position of research director of the psychology department. As director, he managed research assistants and was responsible for the documentation and presentation of findings. As a scholarly author, he has been published in titles including Political Psychology and Intergroup Misunderstandings: Impact of Divergent Social Realities.

Russ WardRUSS WARD (@russcward )- is the Director of Interactive Research at Zemoga. Prior to joining Zemoga, Russ lead a global research group inside an International publishing company to develop and implement a new business model and online digital imaging product that launched successfully in November 2008.  prior to that Russ was a Program Manager for the development of future Anesthesia Systems and a Global Product Manager for Clinical Decision Support in Critical Care at GE Healthcare. Highly experienced in the design and implementation of user-centered research, Russ has led research projects in the workplace, home and healthcare environments using techniques like video ethnography, cognitive mapping and contextual enquiry.
